Reptiles! Meet an animal ambassador and learn about habitat and adaptations of Nebraska reptiles. Meet in the education center
lobby.
Fishing This is beginner fishing: bait a hook, cast a line & catch a fish. Program is weather-permitting and designed for youth ages 5
through 15 who are new to fishing. We will meet at the flag poles in front of the center and walk to the pond together.

Bats A special bat art activity will be available in the Maker Space area. Naturalists will visit the Maker Space to share about
Nebraska’s bats: myths, adaptations, habitats and more!

Picnic Around the Park. In addition to picnic tables, there are plenty of spaces to spread out a blanket and either soak up the sun or
relax in the shade. Bring your own picnic basket, water bottles, snacks or whatever suits your picnicking style.

Backyard Birds Learn about how you can create a birding area in your own backyard. We’ll explore types of feeders, water sources,
which seeds will attract which birds and birds that are common winter visitors. Meet in the education center birding area.

Drawing Birds Learn about the benefits of starting a nature journal and then practice a journal page by learning how to draw a bird.
