Our Spring Break Days are a great way to spend a day off school. Get outdoors and learn about nature. We’ll be featuring a full day of frogs, where guests can learn all about these awesome amphibians. These special programs are included at no additional charge with your paid admission or family pass entry to the center. ($10 Adults, $7 Youth and Seniors, 3 and under free)

Sessions include:

Frogs & Friends (10:00-12:00 & 1:00-3:00) Meet an animal ambassador and learn about the habitats and adaptations of Nebraska frogs and toads.

Frog Callers (10:00 & 1:00) Join us in the Wonder Woodland area to learn about frog calls and make your own frog caller to take home.

Frog Portrait (11:00 & 2:00) We’ll use basic drawing and watercolor techniques to create a frog portrait. We’ll start with a sketch, develop some details and then use mixed media techniques to add texture and color to our frogs. This session meets in the classroom.

Frog Fling (11:00 & 2:00) The hind legs of frogs are strong and longer than their body, which gives them an awesome leap. We’ll meet at the picnic tables in our outdoor classroom to try our hands at making some FAKE frogs leap (launch?) using Sling Shots.

Maker Space Activity (All Day) Make a “FROGS Foldable Booklet” to take home as you explore the life cycle of these amazing amphibians.

Front Yard Games (All Day) We’ve got cornhole and yard dice, some hula hoops and more to set outside for some additional outdoor play time.

We’ll break for lunch between 12:00 and 1:00. Bring a sack lunch to enjoy as a picnic or take a short trip into Gretna or Louisville to eat at a nearby restaurant. Food is not allowed in the center. If weather does not allow for a picnic, we will provide tables in our classroom for those who bring sack lunches.

What Information Do We Collect? How Can You Access and Correct Your Information? You may request access to all your personally identifiable information that we collect online and maintain in our database by emailing us using the contact form provided to you within the site structure of our website.
