CE: Rare Butterfly Survey Training
elp document rare butterflies across the state of Nebraska. This community science effort monitors two species: the regal fritillary and the monarch butterfly.
In-person training for the butterfly surveys is 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday May 21 at Schramm Park State Recreation Area. The first hour is dedicated to general information on monarchs, regal fritillaries, common plants and other community science opportunities; anyone is welcome. Those wanting to survey for the butterflies will learn about survey methods during the remaining time.
Register to attend the Homestead training here. We also encourage you to click “go” on the Facebook event to help spread the word about the community science opportunity.
Another in-person training date will be offered May 21 and a Zoom training is set for May 26 for those unable to attend; only one training session is needed to participate.
