CE: Discover a Watershed: The Missouri | Educator Workshop
While the muddy Missouri may only flow along some of Nebraska’s border, our entire state sits within the boundaries of the Missouri River Watershed. This unique position gives us major access to one of the world’s largest river systems! It also connects us to those who depend on it, including how we affect the water’s quality and quantity. Join us in this exciting workshop as we explore how to engage students – our citizens of the future – in this watershed system. We’ll take a closer look at how environmental stewardship and conservation strategies can be used to address the complex issues facing the Missouri Basin today.
Included in this workshop is an educators guide with 36 activities that cover the Missouri Basin’s hydrology, geology, cities, agriculture, recreation, plant and animal species, stewardship and so much more. Other unique features include correlations to national standards in the sciences and other disciplines.
This is a free workshop (with admission to the park) for both formal and informal educators, but note that participants are required to register beforehand.
