Trees as Tools for Social Emotional Learning Educator Workshop
Join your Nebraska Forest Service and Early Learning Connection for a new professional development opportunity centered on supporting students and their social-emotional development while using trees as windows to the world! During this workshop we will discuss ways that environmental education can be a tool for restorative educational practices to improve youth mental health outcomes while exploring activities from Project Learning Tree. Participants will gain new strategies to engaging youth in environmental education by connecting them to trees and forests just in time for a New Year of learning. While this workshop is designed for adults who work with youth grades preK-4, all are welcome to participate.
Participants will receive a copy of PLT Trees & Me curriculum, a certificate for 2 hours of in-service credit, and the background knowledge to implement these hands-on heads-on experiences in their work with youth right away!
