RCMN business meeting and Alex Wiles presentation on his Missouri
After nearly a decade spent as a zookeeper, Alex Wiles began to refocus his career on wildlife education. Being an avid photographer, Alex began to explore ways to blend his interests in wildlife conservation and photography. Trying to capture still photography of wildlife that could be considered art presented a myriad of challenges - including the inefficiencies of photographing through murky river water and wildlife being rather, well, wild and a bit uncooperative. Through his talk, you can see how his photographic approach to displaying his subjects has shaped over time. Wiles' Floodplain project wishes to challenge the viewer to better know your own river - the Missouri River, and all the beauty and life that it holds and sustains.
