VO: Platte River SP Outdoor Discovery Program
Nebraska Project WILD/Nebraska Game and Parks Commission is looking for 3-4 volunteers to help with the 2019 Platte River Outdoor Discovery Program at Platte River State Park.
Where: Platte River State Park- Louisville, Nebraska
When: Wednesday April 17th, 2019 & Thursday April 18th, 2019
Times: (Approximately 8am-230pm)
What: Running an outdoor activity for 4, 5th & 6th graders
**Volunteers will need a state park permit to enter the park. You can either buy an annual pass for $31, or a daily entry permit for $6 (this can be purchased the day of the Expo)
NEEDED:
2-4 volunteers needed on Wednesday April 17th, 2019 & April 18th, 2019 from 8am-230pm to facilitate either a CSI (critter scene investigation) station or a Habitat Assessment station at the Platte River Outdoor Discovery Program. At this station volunteers will either facilitate an animal olympic station where students will compete in competitions such as long jump, most wing flaps, or sprints and then compare their adaptations to animals. Or, you may be asked to facilitate a Critter scene Investigation activity where students will view 5 different animal scenes using tracks, and natural items to determine what happened at each station. Project WILD will provide all the supplies and directions for this activity. For working the Expo each volunteer will receive a t-shirt and lunch. Volunteers will have 5 different groups in a rotational schedule around 40 minutes each. Please let us know which date(s) you would be able to fill and facilitate this station.
