We hope you will be able to join us Wednesday for our next Citizen Scientists of Nebraska presentation. Citizen Scientists of Nebraska is a network dedicated to increasing and improving citizen science work across Nebraska. As always, the meeting will be accessible through Zoom for those that cannot attend in person. The meeting will also be recorded for future viewing. Additional details are below. We will provide some network-relevant updates prior to the presentation.
Presentation: Expanding Program Outreach through and with Citizen Scientists
Presenter: Louise I. Lynch-O’Brien
Date: Wednesday, July 24, 2019, 2:30 - 4 PM CST
Location: Schramm Education Center, 21502 NE-31, Gretna, NE 68028 (Please note that attendees do not need a parking pass in the parking lot, however attendees will need to pay admission if they want to visit the center after the presentation.)
Presentation Description: Citizen science is known for increasing the geographic, spatial and temporal scale to which scientists have
access to conduct research. This presentation will explore an added benefit of these collaborations with the public: transference of program impacts to individuals outside of the program. A facilitated round table discussion will discuss and debate this phenomenon, including how to leverage it and associated concerns.
