CE: Landscaping with Native Nebraska Plants

Saturday, August 17, 2019
9:00 am10:30 am
4 Regency Pl, Kearney, NE 68847-2567

Join Kearney resident & Master Naturalist! Jonathan Nikkala as he leads a morning tour of his property’s gorgeous native landscaping. Jonathan discovered gardening on a whim after he and his wife, Miriam, purchased their first home. He was immediately intrigued by the small insects that liked to visit the new plants he installed. Since then, he has written a children’s book about insects, speaks to children and adults about them, and his landscape now revolves around creating an insect-friendly/bird-friendly habitat. His was one of the first home landscapes to be certified as part of University of Nebraska Extension's "Nebraska Pollinator Habitat" program. Come learn more about the beauty and benefits of planting natives at this “Plants for Birds” event! Please register through the link included with this post.
