Harmon has taught geology at UNO for 36 plus years, his research areas focus on the Great Plains and the arctic islands of Svalbard. The flooding affected his family as they own a small shack and plot of land along the Elkhorn.

Nate has a bachelor's degree in Environmental Science and Soil Health, as well as a Master's in Agronomy. He often travels all over the world with his work and has an extensive background in working with the soil.
