Bats Over Omaha Bat Release 2023 is Here!
Nebraska Wildlife Rehab will be releasing over 400 bats at the Joslyn Castle and Gardens in Omaha on Monday, May 8th! (For you Bat Release devotees, this is at the Joslyn Castle at 3902 Davenport St. in Omaha. We will NOT be at the Joslyn Art Museum.)

We will have informational tables and bat activities for children starting at 6:00 PM. You'll even get a chance to see the bats up close! We will also have beverages, t-shirts, and other bat merchandise for sale. A short presentation on the bats will take place at 7:45 PM with the release taking place at approximately 8:00 PM, and lasting about 30 minutes. You are even invited to bring a picnic supper to enjoy on the lawn prior to the release! (We are also hoping to have a few food trucks on site. Stay tuned to our web site and social media for updates on that!)

We ask that you please do not bring pets to this event for the safety of our bats at release.

Limited parking will be available at the Joslyn Castle in the lower lot. Overflow parking will available in the neighborhood. Please be considerate and follow all posted parking regulations. There will be port-a-potty facilities at the event!

We believe that this event is the only one of its kind in the U.S., when the public is invited to watch a large number of rehabilitated bats released back into the wild. We are proud to share this unique opportunity with you and to serve as ambassadors for these unique and beneficial animals. Bat release is free and open to the public, and appropriate for all ages. Please invite your friends! We hope to see you Monday night!

We will also be live streaming from the event throughout the night. If you can't join us in person, join us on Facebook Live from our page between 6PM and 8:30 Monday night!

Special thanks to our new host, the Joslyn Castle & Gardens. Thank you also to our sponsors and partners, Mid-City OB-GYN, SOHO Creative, and Squarehead Creative!

This annual event is family-friendly and free to the public!
