"Oak Woodland Workshop for Women"
It's a hands-on workshop that is specifically aimed at interested students and landowners who are going to start heading out into the biology/conservation field and applying for jobs (or managing land) that require skills they may not have had the opportunity to gain or be exposed to. It will also connect women to professionals in their career goals and give them a chance to network and ask questions. The workshop highlights oak woodlands and their management, but we have mentors from several organizations coming together to cover a range of topics, including:
· Prescribed Fire
· Pesticide Use/Invasive Species
· Equipment/Trucks/Trailering
· Oak Woodland Restoration/Management
· Wildlife Surveys/Monitoring
· Environmental Education
· Environmental Review/Law and Policy
· Ecological Connections
It will be one day, beginning with registration at 9:30am and wrapping up about 4:00pm. A box lunch will be provided.
There is limited space for this event and registration ends April 1st.
